Conflict materials and cobalt policy

At Link Solutions, we have a clear policy to avoid conflict minerals and cobalt from conflict-affected and high-risk areas. Additionally, we require our suppliers not to provide us with such metals.

See our CMRT (Conflict Minerals Reporting Template) file here.

Company Level CMRT-Explanation

When suppliers provide a Company-Level CMRT, their answers reflect their company’s overall sourcing practices, not specific products or materials supplied to you.

This means that if a supplier has any products anywhere in their company that use 3TG (Tin, Tantalum, Tungsten, or Gold), they will mark “Yes” on the CMRT.

Even if the particular products they supply to you do not contain 3TG, the company-level CMRT will still show “Yes.”
On the other hand, when a supplier indicates “No,” it means that at a company level they do not source 3TG at all.

Because of this structure, a “Yes” always takes precedence over a “No” when it’s a company-level CMRT.

That’s why you may notice discrepancies between what you expect (based on supplier/product-level knowledge) and what is displayed on the consolidated report.

It is also important to note that the scope of a company-level CMRT extends beyond our immediate suppliers, reaching further upstream into the supply chain.

This broader perspective is designed to increase transparency but can also lead to results that may appear more conservative than product-level declarations.

To summarize:

  • Company-Level CMRT = Broad, covers all of a supplier’s products globally
  • A “Yes” always overrides a “No” in company-level CMRTs, which is why more “Yes” results may appear than expected
  • Scope extends beyond immediate suppliers, reflecting upstream sourcing practices
  • If a product-level CMRT is required, please contact us

If a product level CRMT is required, please contact us.

We expect our suppliers to take reasonable steps to ensure that the components and products they deliver to us do not originate from conflict-affected and high-risk areas. In other words, they should not consist of conflict minerals or cobalt that benefit armed groups or contribute to human rights violations.

The following metals are defined as conflict minerals:

  • (i) tin
  • (ii) tantalum
  • (iii) tungsten
  • (iv) gold
  • (v) all derivatives thereof

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that our products do not directly or indirectly finance or in any way benefit armed groups or contribute to human rights violations, whether through mining or trading of minerals in conflict-affected and high-risk areas.

We expect our suppliers to establish policies, long-term frameworks, and management systems in accordance with the OECD’s due diligence guidelines for responsible mineral supply. This focus is specifically on conflict-affected and high-risk areas, as deemed appropriate within their respective areas of operation.

We will not purchase any material classified as a conflict mineral, whether as raw materials or other types of input materials. Cobalt and the specific metals mentioned above are not expected to be included in our products in any way. From our perspective, they are considered undesirable, which is why this issue does not pose a problem for us.
